How do I decide which domain to purchase?
Before you purchase a domain you must check for availability. You can
do this by going to the our online shop, where you will find an availability
check form. This will tell you whether the domain you would like is
available. If it is then you may purchase it!
How do I decide which hosting package to go for?
This depends on the nature of the website or emails you want to host. If you just want emails all you need to do is to purchase the size of your desired inbox in Megs from our Pay-per-Meg option with a domain of your choice.
If you intend to have a website then this depends on the kind of site you want. For most people the Light package would be enough. The average size of a website is actually only around 500k (0.5Meg), so the Light package would leave you ample space for email and backups.
We would always suggest starting with the Light package and then upgrading if necessary later. With our hosting you have the facility to upgrade without
losing any files, databases or emails.
I need both a domain and a hosting package, can I buy them from different providers?
Yes of course that is perfectly possible, if you already have a domain all you have to do is point it to our DNS servers [Server1: ns1.albatrosshosting.com, Server2: ns2.albatrosshosting.com] and you can instantly access your Albatross hosting package/cpanel.
Should you just need the domains that is possible too, however we do offer a 5% discount on your bill if you buy both together from us!
How do I set up my emails once my account is set up?
With your Control Panel details you will recieve video tutorials that show you how to create and access your inboxes however you can ask our support people to create it for you at no extra cost if you find it problematic.
Can I access my email on the hosting account through Outlook?
Yes this is very easy if you are familiar with Outlook's setup tools, however if you're not don't worry we can provide you with a video tutorial for that too! Your inbox will always be available online and you can forward mail to any other inbox of your choice. Should you have problems configuring Outlook or accessing your mail, you may schedule a meeting with our support team, who through MSN or Skype, will guide you into trying different configurations until you find the one that works for you. I have never used an ftp application and it's my first time creating a website how do I go about it ?

How will I know if my site is getting the desired feedback?
The standard Albatross Hosting control Panel comes with 4 different types of statistics panels. You can check how many hits you get daily, monthly or over a given period of time and you can also find out where your traffic came from and which pages were viewed most often.
For those who don't like statistics we offer a traffic analysis report service where you can order reports yearly or up to 4 times a year for a small fee.
I would like to have a forum and image gallery on my website, does your hosting support it?
Your control panel comes with Fantastico which allows you install forums, wikis, image galleries and much more just with one click. It will also link you to help and support regarding your installation!
I would like to develop my site into an e-commerce site to sell my products online in the future, do you support this?
Yes we do support e-commerce and our Control Panel comes with easy to install ready-made editable shopping carts like Zen cart, Agora and OsCommerce. We also offer fee shared SSL. However for private SSL, there is a charge.
How long will it take to get domain and hosting up and running after
purchasing them?
Anything between 1 and 12 hours. The hosting is instantly created and
the domain is immediately booked however the domain pointing takes
up to 12 hours to stabilize (this is common to all providers and all domains), however this can be (and usually is) a lot faster than that.

How do I get into my control panel?
Type in www.yourdomain.com/cpanel and enter user and password according to the information sent in your welcome email from us. Have a good look at the icons on the home page to get an idea of all the features in your control panel. Enjoy!
How do I create my email addresses and how many can I create ?
To create the your email addresses:
1. Acces your C Panel X (instructions above)
2. Click on 'MAIL'
3. Click on 'Add/Remove/Manage Accounts'
4. Click on 'Add Account'
5. Enter email address and password (change quota if required)
6. Click on 'Go Back'
7. Click on 'webmail' next to the mail account you want to open
8. Enter password and click 'Login'
9. Choose an email application (Squirrel Mail recommended)
10. and You're in Well Done!

How do I set up my ftp software to link to your hosting?

How do I set up my ftp details in Adobe Dreamweaver?
In 'Local Info' tab : HTTP Address = http://www.mydomain.com
In 'Remote Info' tab :

- Login
= your control panel user name
- Password = your control panel password
- Use passive FTP = ticked (yes)
How do I set up my database details in a php connection file?
If you create a particular user for the file then use the user and password of that user, however if you access it directly your code should look something like this:
